SUNDAY SOUNDS

May 18 @ 3:00 PM - 9:30 PM

We have an incredible lineup of Kimberley Bands performing at Sunday Sounds!

Family Shoveller Band

The Family Shoveller Band are proud Karajarri family members who were all introduced to music at a young age. They started playing in their backyard in the remote Aboriginal community of Bidyadnga, WA, 180km south of Broome They use their music to communicate stories of their culture and of the magical saltwater country they come from, as well as freshwater country of their ancestors, sounding deadly and REAL! They have been known to rock many parties all over the Kimberley and Pilbara regions, all the way down to Perth and further south and always get the dancefloor pumping!

Typhonium

Kununurra based band Typhonium started out three years ago with casual jam sessions and quickly evolved into a group with a strong passion for music and live performance. Their setlist spans from the ’60s to today, featuring an eclectic mix of songs everyone knows, loves, and can’t help but dance to..

Stellar Moon and the Dark Knights

Stellar ‘Manawala’ Moon is Monique Le Lievre, Nyikina woman from the Kimberley. She delivers diverse songs with a strong flavour of Soul with hints of rock, funk, blues & folk. Empowering the audience into inner revolutions through songs about modern-day rebellion, such as, loving yourself & standing up for yourself, connecting to country and healing.

Dangerous Goods

With a unique spin on covers, this Kununurra born three-piece brings a fresh combination of sounds, loving into b-sides and beloved classics. Expect the unexpected—they love keeping you guessing.

Todd Watson

A familiar face in Kununurra, Todd brings a mix of modern urban, vintage disco/soul, and lo-fi house grooves to his sets. His sets span from the 1960s to today, packed with eclectic tunes everyone knows and loves.

Peter Brandy

Peter was born in Halls Creek and grew up on cattle stations in the East Kimberley. His songs tell of his experiences in the region and of its characters, in a style that combines his Aboriginal heritage with a classic “Kimberley” feel, punctuated by his melodic guitar breaks.
